Stan Hacking Concert Band

Stan Hacking, conductor of the Concert Band is an ex- Royal Marines Band Colour Sergeant and served for 22 years home and abroad.

The leader is Colin Brocklebank, an ex-Royal Marines Band Master, who also served 22 years home and abroad.

The Concert Band was formed by Stan over 25 years ago, with around 12 musicians. This has grown to a band of 60 plus, with ages ranging from 12 years to let's say the more mature.

The Concert Band consists of woodwind, brass and percussion.  Many of the leaders of the sections are teachers and Grade 8 players and all band members need to be at least Grade 5 standard or equivalent.

The Band has gone from strength to strength during the last 25 years and has undertaken a large number of concerts in and around Devon.  All Concerts are for charity and the Band has raised over £260,000 for local and national charities.  If you are a charity wishing to book the band for a concert, please contact us (contact details below).

New members welcome!

We are currently on the lookout for a lead trumpet.  If you play the trumpet to Grade 8 standard and are interested in joining the band, please contact us (contact details below).

We also currently need more musicians for the following sections of the band, who need to be at least Grade 5 standard:  trumpets, bassoons, oboes, trombones and basses.
